The Vision

Nesiya conducts programs that inspire young Jewish North Americans and Israelis from diverse backgrounds to enrich Jewish life for themselves and others, encouraging them to deepen their relationship with Judaism, the Jewish people, and the land of Israel. Nesiya trains young people to develop themselves as unique individuals and contributing members of the larger Jewish community by building relationships and exploring differences among diverse Jews in order to develop leaders and invigorate Jewish life.

The Program: The Kehillah Experience

Join Nesiya for five weeks in Israel with Israeli and North American peers from diverse backgrounds. The Kehillah Experience combines outdoor adventure, workshops in the visual, performing and literary arts, community service projects, cultural activities and creative Jewish study in Israel. Meet artists, educators, nature guides, activists, and community leaders who will work side by side with you creating, exploring, learning and building. Participants travel through four regions of Israel – the Negev, Galil, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the Judean Desert, focusing on the origins, development, and role of the land of Israel in the future of the Jewish people.

"This was my first time in Israel, and I did not want it to be short or 'touristy'. I wanted to feel it, to see it, to touch it, to smell it. I wanted to know, to know, the people of Israel, to know more about myself and who I want to be." - Jennifer Salant, Scarsdale, NY

"Nesiya gives us a Jewish place to begin a lifelong journey of growing and learning." - Rachel Beck, Pittsburgh, PA

"We were looking for a summer program that would give Michael a meaningful experience – a chance for him to truly experience Israel, to meet good kids, and to enjoy himself. Nesiya provided all that and more. The text study, the opportunity to participate in community service projects, the hiking and the arts projects are all things he loves. And it was wonderful to find a program that included all of them." - Char and Dale Nance, Parents of Michael Nance, Beachwood, OH
